As a tribute to one of his favorite masters, Botero reinterprets one of the drawings of the extensive series of female nudes made by Degas, the only artist linked to French Impressionism who exclusively works with women as the main theme of his production.
Botero not only recreates with respect, but always from his original and own language, the theme of Degas. In addition, as a great observer, Botero understands that the sensuality in Degas is not only because of the woman, but to the strokes of the pastels that rather than following the lines of the woman's body seem to caress her. So, like a lesson from one Maestro to another, Botero takes his own woman and repeats the caress, not only with his style but with his own technique, the delicate and harmonious watercolor.
